Job summary

Harbinger is seeking a Chassis Engineer, Suspension (Sustaining) to maintain and improve existing suspension systems for medium-duty EV platforms. The role focuses on cost reduction, issue resolution, and engineering changes to ensure durability and ride quality across vans and trucks.

Requirements include a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering (or Bachelor's with 7+ years) and strong CATIA skills, with up to 20% travel for supplier audits and plant support.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in automotive suspension engineering for current production or sustaining engineering.
• EV suspension systems experience in series production with EV-specific load paths.
• Strong CATIA v5/v6 skills for updating kinematics and CAD data.

Responsibilities

• Continuous Improvement & VAVE to reduce component costs and improve manufacturability.
• Lead 8D root cause investigations for suspension field failures and defects.
• Manage Engineering Change Requests/Orders with updated 3D/2D models and BOM.
• Support manufacturing to resolve line-stop issues and assembly ergonomics.
• Collaborate with suppliers for PPAP updates and supplier validation.
• Define and execute Design Validation Plans for revisions or supplier changes.
• Maintain DFMEAs and project issue lists through the product lifecycle.
