Job summary

BMW of Long Island City is seeking an automotive technician to diagnose, repair and maintain customer and dealership vehicles. You will use BMW diagnostic tools and work to fix issues right the first time.

Responsibilities include receiving Repair Orders, performing diagnostics, estimating labor and parts, and ensuring paperwork is complete. The role emphasizes quality, safety, and continuous BMW training for skill development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2+ years of hands-on automotive repair experience.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and computing skills.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment testing including background and MVR.
• ASE certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and carrying-out Repair Orders as dispatched.
• Performing diagnostic services and troubleshooting to determine repair needs.
• Providing labor, time, and parts estimates for repair services.
• Performing high quality and efficient repair services for various automotive systems, including engine, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
• Performing Quality Control checks for repaired vehicles to ensure repairs are complete.
• Completing all required paperwork and documentation for repair services.
• Maintaining organized, clean workspace and accounting for dealership and personal tools at all times.
• Communicating with Service Advisors and Parts Department Employees.
• Participating in BMW training programs to hone skills and stay current with BMW technologies.
