Job summary

Secouniversity in Nashville, TN is seeking a full-time Doctor of Optometry to join our optometry practice. The successful OD will diagnose, treat, and manage eye health, prescribe glasses and contacts, and provide pre- and postoperative care as needed.

This position offers a base salary of $150,000 with production bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, 401K, and disability insurance, with an opportunity to work alongside a supportive eye care team.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Optometry degree (OD) required.
  • Valid TN license to practice.
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, treat and manage disorders of the visual system, eye diseases, and injuries
  • Prescribe glasses and contacts as needed
  • Review prescriptions and identify special and complex needs
  • See 3 patients per hour
  • Provide pre- and postoperative care for eye surgery
  • Evaluate patients for diseases like diabetes and refer when appropriate
  • Explain how to clean and wear contact lenses to patients
  • Use pharmaceuticals, vision therapy, and surgical options when appropriate
  • Collaborate with a team of eye care professionals to meet patient needs

Optometrist needed to join an Optometry practice in Nashville, TN! – $150,000 + production bonuses

This practice is actively hiring for a full-time OD in Nashville TN. There, you will find experienced and helpful teams of eye care professionals dedicated to meeting their patients’ eye health needs. Their mission is to exceed the expectations of their patients by providing exceptional eye care services. They strive to share our expertise with each patient to inform them of all aspects of their visual health, preventative eye health, and eye care products that will enhance their quality of life to a new level of satisfaction. Above all, they believe that every person, patient and staff member who steps foot in their office should be treated with respect, and should leave their office feeling valued.

Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, treat and manage disorders of the visual system, eye diseases, and injuries
  • Confidently and correctly prescribe glasses and contacts as needed
  • Review prescriptions and identify special and complex needs
  • Perform work accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and patient volume
  • Diagnose, treat and manage vision and eye health conditions
  • In addition to prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses, be knowledgeable in treatment options using pharmaceuticals, low vision, vision therapy, and surgical procedures
  • Provide pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery
  • Evaluate patients for the presence of diseases such as diabetes and refer patients to other healthcare providers as appropriate
  • Promote eye health by counseling patients, including explaining how to clean and wear contact lenses
  • See 3 patients per hour
