Job summary

The Sr Specialist, ETRM Applications position in Houston, TX, focuses on configuring, maintaining, and enhancing the ETRM software suite to support trading, risk, and financial reporting activities. This contract role reports to the ETRM Operations Manager and collaborates with traders, finance, and IT teams.

Candidates should bring 5+ years in ETRM or similar platforms, strong Java/OpenJVS skills, and solid DB/CI/CD experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with ETRM or similar energy-trading platforms.
• Strong technical background in Java, OpenJVS, and open-component frameworks.
• Proficiency with database technologies (SQL, Oracle, or comparable) and query optimization.
• Demonstrated ability to manage software deployment, version control (Git, SVN), and release cycles.
• Solid understanding of financial concepts and risk metrics relevant to LNG trading.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills with the ability to translate technical details for non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in project management, requirements gathering, and facilitation of cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of security standards, change-management processes, and risk-mitigation techniques.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive, detail-oriented work style.

Responsibilities

• Configure and customize ETRM applications to meet evolving business requirements.
• Lead change-management initiatives, including impact analysis, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
• Collaborate with traders, finance, and IT teams to gather functional and technical requirements.
• Develop, test, and deploy software enhancements using version-control systems and CI/CD pipelines.
• Conduct unit, integration, and UAT testing to ensure solution quality.
• Provide day-to-day application support, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
• Maintain data integrity across databases, ensuring accurate reporting and analytics.
• Implement security best practices and manage access controls per policy.
• Facilitate training sessions and produce user documentation for new functionality.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, and track issues through risk-management processes.
• Partner with external vendors and internal developers to integrate third-party components and APIs.
• Continuously evaluate and propose process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.
