Overview

GovCIO is seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to support the management and maintenance of the Veterans Affairs IT infrastructure. This role manages data models and database systems, optimizing storage, retrieval, and implementation processes. This position leads database architecture, resolves advanced issues, and drives performance enhancements. This position will be fully remote within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the selection, implementation, and configuration of software, hardware, and network infrastructure for database management systems.
• Establish and maintain high standards for database tools, administration protocols, and best practices, ensuring operational excellence.
• Lead efforts to monitor and apply critical SQL Server patches and updates, guaranteeing system security and reliability.
• Architect and develop data models and access layers that enhance product capabilities and scalability.
• Implement robust backup solutions and database replication protocols to ensure data integrity.
• Address complex technical challenges with innovative solutions, driving forward-thinking improvements.

Compensation

The posted salary range is USD $130,000 - USD $155,000 per year, subject to individual factors and market conditions. Total compensation may include additional elements discussed during hiring. The position is at-will, and salary may be modified by GovCIO at any time.
