Job summary

Sonsoft, Inc. in the United States is seeking a mid- to senior-level IBM Datastage Developer to design and build ETL pipelines, optimize performance, and implement CDC in a data warehouse environment.

The role requires Unix/Linux, strong SQL, experience with scheduling tools (Autosys, Control-M, Tivoli), and solid data modeling with Oracle/DB2. This is a full-time position based in Newark, DE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required; relevant work experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
• At least 4 years of DW/BI experience and related tools.
• Hands-on IBM Datastage design, development & build activities (v8.5+).
• Experience with back-end RDBMS and data modeling (Oracle/DB2 preferred).
• Experience with ETL/ELT concepts and data loading techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop & build ETL/ELT solutions in IBM Datastage.
• Create Datastage sequences to run batch jobs and manage workflows.
• Improve performance and implement CDC in data pipelines.
• Utilize Unix/Linux systems, file systems, and shell scripting.
• Work with scheduling tools like Autosys/Control-M/Tivoli for job orchestration.
• Apply strong analytical skills in a global delivery environment.

Knowledge of IBM Datastage Architecture, Stages/Transformations, Design, ETL flow, advanced SQLs Knowledge of data loading techniques using DatastageDevelop Datastage Parallel Extender jobs using different stages like Aggregator, Join, Merge, Lookup, Source dataset, External Filter, Row generator, Column Generator, Change Capture, Copy, Funnel, Short, Peek stages etcUsing Datastage Director for running and monitoring the jobs.Created Datastage sequences to run the batch jobs.Knowledge Best Practices in Datastage, Performance improvements, implementing CDC, UDFs.Understanding of Unix/Linux system, file systems, shell scripting.Strong understanding of scheduling tools such as Autosys, Control- M, Tivoli etc.Good knowledge on MF file structures along with RDBMS.Provides expertise in determining the strategic technical direction and system architecture for initiatives.Hands-on development mentality, with a willingness to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.Strong analytical skills. Experience in Financial domain. Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.
