Job summary

Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University invites applications for Fellow-in-Residence for the 2027-28 year to explore pressing ethical questions across disciplines. Residents are expected to devote most time to their own projects while engaging in seminars and Center programming in Boston.

Applicants should have a PhD or professional degree or at least 5 years of relevant experience, with advanced English language proficiency and ability to present work in English.

Qualifications

• PhD, professional degree, or minimum 5 years of equivalent professional experience by September 1 of the fellowship year.
• Advanced language skills in written and spoken English required; able to discuss and/or present work in English.

Responsibilities

• Fellows devote the majority of their time to their individual projects and participate in regular work‑in‑progress seminars.
• Fellows participate in and contribute to the Center's programming, including public lectures, seminars, conferences, workshops and lunch discussions.
• Fellows may be invited to teach a Harvard class during the appointment.
