Job summary

Road & Rail Services in Indianapolis seeks a Terminal Manager to lead our ethanol transloading operation. You will oversee daily transfer activities, ensure safety compliance, supervise and develop terminal staff, and maintain strong client communication.

This role requires hands-on leadership in a hazardous materials environment with experience in flammable materials handling and regulatory requirements. On-site work in all weather conditions is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience handling or overseeing hazardous/high-risk chemicals or materials
• Experience around flammable materials (ethanol, fuels, petroleum products)
• At least 2 years of management or operational leadership experience
• Experience managing budgets, expenses, productivity, or P&L performance
• Strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and strict procedural compliance
• Experience supervising and developing employees in an industrial environment
• Experience in chemical handling, fuel terminals, bulk liquid transfer, rail transloading, transportation, logistics, manufacturing, or terminal operations

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily ethanol transfer and transloading operations
• Ensure hazardous materials are handled according to safety procedures and regulatory requirements
• Lead the transfer of commodities between rail cars and tanker trucks/trailers
• Supervise, train, coach, and develop terminal employees
• Ensure employees follow proper procedures for ethanol and other transfers
• Maintain a strong safety culture around flammable and hazardous materials
• Monitor performance, staffing, productivity, quality, and efficiency
• Complete inspections, paperwork, and documentation accurately
• Maintain OSHA, EPA, FRA, DOT, and customer compliance
• Monitor expenses and support P&L goals
• Investigate safety concerns and implement corrective actions
• Communicate with customers and leadership
• Support operations during busy periods
• Handle additional commodities per customer needs
