Job summary

Valero Linden Ethanol Plant in Linden, IN is seeking a Process Operator to oversee daily operations in a 12-hour rotating shift, maintaining a safe, compliant work environment while supporting production quality and reliability.

Duties include monitoring plant performance, troubleshooting equipment, documenting process variables, and coordinating with other departments to ensure safe execution of daily activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Willingness to work on-site at the Linden Ethanol Plant.
• Associate degree in Process Technology or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in operating a dry-mill ethanol plant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant operations.
• Review plant operation to monitor production and quality, anticipate problems and identify improvements.
• Participate in projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
• Document and monitor process variables, sample data and routine tasks for operations.
• Participate in QA/QC program, interpret results, and take appropriate action when required.
• Communicate with all departments to ensure safe and efficient daily plant activities.
• Monitor and troubleshoot process issues and equipment.
• Perform scheduled Operations Work Requests as requested by Supervisor or Plant Management.
• Prepare equipment to ensure it is safe for maintenance/contractors to perform scheduled work.
• Utilize safe work practices to ensure all work is performed safely.
• Participate in safety, health, and environmental programs (LOTO, FSMA).
• Participate in programs to ensure plant cleanliness.
• Monitor use and inventory of process chemicals and supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned to maintain safe, reliable operation.
• This position is hourly nonexempt status, eligible for overtime pay.
