Job summary

Valero Energy is hiring a Process Operator for the Linden Ethanol Plant. The role oversees daily operations, monitors production quality, and supports safe, efficient plant activities on a 12-hour rotating shift.

This hourly, nonexempt position starts at $28 per hour with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for improvement. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, with preferred associate degree in Process Technology and experience in a dry-mill ethanol plant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Linden Ethanol Plant, required.
• Preferred: Associate Degree in Process Technology or equivalent.
• Experience in the operation of a dry-mill ethanol plant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant operations and maintain production quality.
• Review plant operation to anticipate and solve problems and identify improvements.
• Participate in projects to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
• Document and monitor process variables, samples, and routine tasks to keep operations within parameters.
• Participate in QA/QC programs, interpret results, and take appropriate action.
• Communicate with departments to ensure safe and efficient daily activities.
• Monitor and troubleshoot process issues and equipment.
• Perform scheduled Operations Work Requests as directed by supervision.
• Prepare equipment to be safe for maintenance and contractors.
• Follow company safe work practices and participate in safety programs.
• Help maintain plant cleanliness and monitor chemicals and supplies inventory.
