Job summary

TMX is seeking an ETF Data Specialist to audit and optimize ETF data across VettaFi’s B2C platforms, partnering with product, engineering, and marketing to deliver accurate market information.

You will architect a unified ETF ontology, maintain data quality, and manage vendor relationships, ensuring timely, reliable data reaches investors.

Candidates should have 3+ years in asset management or fintech, strong SQL skills, experience with LLM prompting, and a finance or CS degree.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in asset management or financial technology, with focus on product data ownership, data operations, or data product management.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with LLM prompting and evaluation techniques.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related quantitative field.
• Bonus: existing relationships with major financial market data vendors and experience building taxonomy/ontology frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Drive Data Intelligence & AI Accuracy: audit, fine-tune, and optimize LLM-generated classifications, descriptions, and data extractions.
• Architect the ETF Ontology: develop and maintain a single source of truth for asset class categorization.
• Ensure Uncompromising Quality: own data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across all VettaFi properties.
• Build Strategic Partnerships: collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to deliver data to investors.
• Manage Vendor Relationships: liaise with market data vendors for seamless integration and data quality.
• Define Success: establish KPIs and monitor system performance and precision.
