Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor in Wisconsin is seeking an Etch Process Technician to join a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing fab. You’ll work alongside technicians and engineers on troubleshooting, maintenance, and root-cause analysis to ensure reliable process performance.

Responsibilities include tool qualifications, lot dispositions, trend monitoring, and SOP updates, plus wafer recoveries and communicating events to engineers.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent military experience.
• 5+ years direct Etch semiconductor experience in high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience with 300mm Dry Etch is highly desired.
• Familiarity with Lam, AMAT, TEL, Mattson, and PSK platforms.
• Detail-oriented with strong teamwork and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Work in the fab with Equipment/Process Technicians and Engineers to troubleshoot with root-cause analysis and 5S.
• Sustain the factory by performing tool qualifications, lot dispositions, and interlock troubleshooting.
• Conduct trend monitoring and collaborate to implement corrective actions.
• Draft SOP revisions to continuously improve quality and safety.
• Recover Etch equipment during PM or down events, including wafer recoveries and tool qualifications.
• Document and communicate tool interruptions to Process engineers for proper disposition.

Position Summary

Job Description Summary
In your role as an Etch Process Technician, you’ll work alongside a talent group of technicians and engineers in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment producing some of the most advanced semiconductor devices on the planet.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:

• Work in the fab with other Equipment/Process Technicians and Engineers to support troubleshooting and maintenance activities with a mindset towards root cause analysis, standardization, and 5S

• Understand and be able to sustain the factory by performing tool qualifications, lot dispositions, and interlock troubleshooting activities

• Perform assigned trend monitoring activities regularly and work with Layer Owners to implement corrective actions

• Draft regular SOP revisions to ensure quality and safety expectations are continuously improved upon.

• Perform activities involved with the recovery of Etch equipment from PM or down events including wafer recoveries and tool qualifications

• Documenting and communicating events from tool interruptions to Process engineers to ensure the material is measured and material disposition is completed correctly.

Skills and Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Two-year technical degree, equivalent military experience, and/or 5+ years direct applicable Etch semiconductor experience in high volume manufacturing environment.

• 300mm Dry Etch experience highly desired.

• Familiarity with Lam, AMAT, TEL, Mattson, and/or PSK platforms preferred, along with familiarity with SPC methods and implementation

• Successful candidates will be detail and task oriented and place high value on customer service, teamwork and flexibility.

Night Shifts Include:

B Shift – Sunday through Tuesday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays

D Shift – Wednesday through Friday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays

The current base salary range for this role is between $18.60/hour - $60.40/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance
