Job summary

NXP Semiconductors in the United States (Austin, TX) is seeking a seasoned Equipment Technician to troubleshoot and repair complex semiconductor equipment across AMAT, Ulvac, Gasonics, and Dry Etch tool sets. You will perform preventive maintenance, analyze tool performance with SPC/FabGuard data, document activities, and support standard work improvements.

The role requires an Associate's Degree in engineering or science, 5+ years in semiconductor manufacturing, and up to 7 years in NXP

Qualifications

Associate's Degree (or higher) in an engineering or science discipline.
Minimum of 5 years semiconductor manufacturing experience.
Minimum of 7 years of NXP (or affiliate) experience may qualify in lieu of degree.
Experience with advanced electronics, equipment troubleshooting, installation, repair and operation of Semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Must be able to read schematics and complex drawings/diagrams.
Must be physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work well in a diverse team environment and multitask with minimal supervision.
Analytical problem solving and testing skills.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair hardware and process failures for AMAT, Ulvac, Gasonics, Fusion Gemini & LAM Dry Etch tools.
Perform preventive maintenance following standardized work documents.
Use SPC charts and FabGuard Fault Detection and Classification data to troubleshoot equipment.
Document maintenance activities and improve standardized work documents.
Maintain spare parts inventory and related activities.
Coordinate equipment downtime with Manufacturing Leads.
Assist Equipment Engineers with upgrades and long down troubleshooting.
Collaborate with process technicians on wafer recoveries and post-maintenance qualification.
