Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an Etch Equipment Engineer to support troubleshooting, maintenance, and yield improvement on 300mm dry etch tools. You will work with Equipment/Process Technicians and other Engineers to drive root-cause analysis, standardization, and 5S in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

The role requires a BS in Electrical/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering and 2+ years in related industry, with strong familiarity with etch equipment (Lam, TEL, AMAT, Hitachi,

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of industry experience.
• 300mm Dry Etch experience highly desired.
• Familiar with Etch Equipment (Lam, TEL, AMAT, Hitachi, SEMES, Mattson, PSK, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain equipment with root cause analysis, standardization, and 5S mindset.
• Perform tool qualifications, lot dispositions, and interlock/alarm reduction activities.
• Run experiments and analyze data to improve capacity, tool-to-tool variation, and defect performance.
• Perform trend monitoring and implement corrective actions with Tool Owners.
• Utilize TPM concepts and LEAN tools to implement systematic solutions for long-term prevention of issues.
• Attend passdown meetings to communicate factory state with respect to the Team’s Equipment.

Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience.
