Job summary

Explorer Time Company offers active after-school care in Woodford County elementary schools. The role focuses on supervising and supporting K-5 students in a positive environment, with emphasis on enrichment activities and homework help.

Full-time schedule supports the school community with afternoon shifts and occasional variable hours. The position involves working under Directors and Program Managers, supervising the team, and ensuring safety and compliance with state regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; childcare/management experience helpful.
• Must pass health examination.
• No immoral or criminal history.

Responsibilities

• Work with Director, Program Manager, staff, youth, parents and school community.
• Assist in registration, planning activities, tracking attendance, and record-keeping.
• Promote a supportive environment with positive behavioral strategies.
• Implement enrichment activities.
• Assist in snacks/lunch coordination.
• Maintain order and procedures during activities.
• Assist students with homework assignments.
• Supervise site Assistants and groups of children.
• Light cleaning and organization tasks.
• Participate in professional development training.
• Handle checks or money orders nightly.
• Verify student attendance daily.
• Manage 3-12 Site Assistants daily.
• Follow Kentucky State Licensing Child Care Regulations.

Job description

Explorer Time Company plays an active role in each Woodford County elementary school, providing fun and enriching after-school care. Schedule Available

• 11:00pm - 6:30pm Monday thru Friday
• Works 5 days a week
• Occasional Full-Day shifts or morning hours may be required with ample notice
• Weekends, holidays, and nights are NOT required

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work productively and consistently with the Director, Program Manager, Site Assistants, youth, parents, and school community
• Assist in registration, planning/preparing activities, tracking attendance, and student information record-keeping
• Promote a supportive environment with positive behavioral strategies
• Implement planned enrichment activities
• Assist in coordinating and distributing snacks/lunch
• Maintain order and procedures during all activities
• Assist students with homework assignments
• Supervise a team of Assistants and small groups of children
• Perform light cleaning and organizational tasks
• Participate in scheduled professional development training
• Handle numerous checks or money orders each night
• Verify student attendance daily
• Manage 3-12 Site Assistants daily
• Ensure the safety of staff and students daily by following and upholding the Kentucky State Licensing Child Care Regulations
• Create curriculum and activities for elementary age children
• Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Director
