ESY-Special Education Paraprofessional for SAIL Program (Kellogg, MN)

Join to apply for the ESY-Special Education Paraprofessional for SAIL Program (Kellogg, MN) role at Hiawatha Valley Education District.

Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking talented Special Education Paraprofessionals for our Extended School Year (ESY) program at SAIL in Kellogg, MN. This program will meet for a total of 15 days:

  • June 16 - 18
  • June 23 - 26
  • July 7 - 10
  • July 14 - 17

HOURS: 8:00 am - 1:30 pm

RATE OF PAY: $17.25 - $27.25 per hour

Qualifications:

  • Must meet highly qualified criteria: Associates Degree or higher, or meet Minnesota Certified ParaPro Assessment
  • Certified in Safety Care (preferred)
  • Experience working with students with behavioral needs
  • Skills in instructional support, technology use, and interpersonal communication
  • Effective verbal and written communication with students, staff, and parents
  • Ability to work collaboratively and follow directions from supervising teachers
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Experience with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Assisting teachers with instructional duties and organizational tasks
  • Maintaining attendance records, filing, copying, and creating bulletin boards
  • Adapting classroom activities and materials under teacher supervision
  • Administering tests, homework, and make-up work
  • Collaborating with staff to communicate and resolve issues
  • Monitoring students during various activities to ensure safety and positive environment
