Job summary

Applitrack is seeking an ESY Teacher Aide at Central School District 51 for the 2026 extended school year. The role supports teachers in classroom setup, small-group instruction, and IEP-driven strategies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must hold a current paraprofessional, sub, or professional educator's license with the ISBE.
• Maintain certification for Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training as needed.
• Successful completion of fingerprint based criminal background check (IL State Police and FBI), sex offender and violent youth offender screening, and employment physical.

Responsibilities

• Assists the instructor with classroom set-up and class preparations.
• Provides individual and/or small group instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Administers, scores, and records such achievement, diagnostic tests and other documentation as required or as the teacher recommends.
• Assists with the student development of organizational and study skills.
• Assists the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material skills based on IEP.
• Implements and monitors a behavior management program outlined in the classroom and/or IEP.
• Provides support in unstructured settings for students.
• Guides and serves as a resource person to the students in a general education or special education setting.
• Maintains effective communication with school staff.
