Job summary

The Morro Bay National Estuary Program is seeking a full-time Restoration Projects Manager to oversee planning and implementation of habitat restoration in the Morro Bay watershed. You will coordinate with partners, manage data, and report findings to the public and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include planning and coordinating restoration projects, monitoring ecological improvements, managing budgets and grants, and communicating results through GIS, StoryMaps, and reports.

Qualifications

• BA/BS and relevant work experience in watershed science or environmental fields.
• 2–4 years of restoration field experience.
• 1–2 years of project management experience including budgets and contracts.
• Strong written and verbal communication; technical writing sample.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Adobe, and GIS.
• Ability to hike and carry 20–50 pounds in rugged terrain.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate watershed restoration projects and partnerships.
• Monitor ecological improvements and data collection across habitats.
• Oversee budgeting, contracting, permitting, and reporting.
• Develop GIS maps, StoryMaps, and data-driven reports for stakeholders.
