Job summary

PLP Co. is seeking an Estimator to manage bid information, prepare proposals, and track projects for roads/highways. The role supports estimating and operations by maintaining project data and bid documents, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.

The ideal candidate has construction-related estimating experience, strong MS Word/Excel/Outlook skills, and a high typing speed. Office-based with potential lifting of materials and collaboration with the Senior Estimator.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Communications, or related field OR three (3) years of relevant experience.
• Office-based role supporting active field operations.
• Occasional lifting of office or project materials may be required.
• Experience in construction, pavement marking, road striping, traffic control, or similar field-related work strongly preferred.
• Strong customer service and follow-up skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Microsoft Project a plus.
• Typing speed of at least 60 WPM with accuracy.
• Respect for the connection between office and field operations.

Responsibilities

• Organize bid documents, proposal templates, and invitations to bid.
• Support bid day activities including last-minute changes and contractor calls.
• Set up and maintain projects in the company database.
• Maintain organized electronic and hard-copy project files.
• Maintain contractor and customer contact lists.
• Monitor accuracy and quality of estimates and proposals.
• Provide general office and team support as needed.

Estimator (Roads/Highways)

Parking Lot Painting Company (PLP Co.) is a hands-on pavement marking contractor known for high-quality striping and reliable scheduling. From parking lots to roadway striping, our crews are in the field every day delivering accurate, safe, and long-lasting results. Behind every successful project is a well-prepared estimate. We are seeking an Estimator who understands construction environments, pays close attention to detail, and can manage bids that are organized, accurate, and delivered on time.

The Estimator supports our estimating and operations teams by managing bid information, preparing proposals, tracking bids, and maintaining project data. This role is ideal for someone who has worked around construction projects especially pavement markings, roadway striping, or similar trades and understands how accurate estimating directly impacts the field crews and project success.

Work closely with the Senior Estimator on daily priorities, upcoming bids, and deadlines.
