Job summary

B is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to join our team in Tucson, AZ. You will develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities, perform takeoffs, and support bid reviews with operations and project management.

Ideal candidates read plans well, analyze costs, and manage self-performed work. A Civil Engineering or Construction Management background is preferred, with experience in heavy civil projects.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating water and/or wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong quantity takeoff and cost analysis skills.
• Experience with estimating software (HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, OST) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals for coverage.
• Evaluate phasing, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving measures.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare budgets and lead handoffs from estimating to project team.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout after award.
• Partner with operations to set projects up for successful execution.

We are looking for an experiencedWater/Wastewater Estimator to join our team. You'll play a key role in pursuing and planning water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate, competitive estimates and partnering closely with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

We're looking for someone who understands water/wastewater construction and self-performed work and can evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs.

What You'll Do:

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, process piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project-team handoffs.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award.
• Partner with operations and project teams to help set projects up for successful execution.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience estimating water and/or wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.
