Job summary

B is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects, develop accurate estimates, and work closely with operations and project management from bid through handoff. You will assess scope, constructability, and risk beyond simple takeoffs, ensuring competitive pricing and solid project handoffs.

Requirements include a civil engineering/related degree and hands-on experience with self-performed work, plus proficiency in estimating

Qualifications

• Experience estimating water/wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed concrete and heavy civil work.
• Ability to evaluate scope, risk, and cost beyond takeoffs.
• Strong reading of plans, specs, and contracts.
• Proficient in cost analysis and quantity takeoffs.
• Familiarity with estimating software and processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, process piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project-team handoffs.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award.

We're looking for someone who understands water/wastewater construction and self-performed work and can evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs.

What You'll Do:

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience estimating water and/or wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.
• Experience with HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
