Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects, develop accurate estimates, and partner with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

The role requires understanding of water/wastewater construction, self-performed work, and the ability to evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost beyond simple takeoffs. Strong communication and planning skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Experience estimating water and/or wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.
• Experience with HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals; ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify risks, opportunities, VE ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project handoffs.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout after award.
• Partner with operations to set projects up for successful execution.

What You'll Do:
