Job description

Position: Estimator
Reports to: Senior VDC Manager
Location: Victaulic Global Headquarters, Easton, PA

The Estimator is responsible for developing cost estimates for Fabrication & Drawing projects for construction as required by customer documents, along with other internal and external support requests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Preparation/evaluation of: BIM Fabrication packages, Material & Labor comparisons, Joint count conversions, Engineering model conversions, Material Take-Offs (MTO) as required
  2. Communicate estimate and scope of work to Sales staff
  3. Determine scope coverage and manage risk of scope gaps to Sales and Customer
  4. Coordinate projects with work centers, sales, and customers to ensure project schedule milestones and deliverables are met
  5. Perform Quality Control functions in line with current department standards
  6. Utilize, review, and enforce VDC division procedures and policies. Suggest updates as needed.
  7. Coordinate, schedule, and assign incoming Sales support requests
  8. Assist Sales with presentation of VDC package quotes (as required)
  9. Assist in training department staff
  10. Support other VDC departments as required
Qualifications
  1. GED diploma, Two-year Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection Engineering, or equivalent education/experience
  2. Proven written and verbal communication skills
  3. Leadership and interpersonal skills
  4. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, & Navisworks preferred
  5. Knowledge of piping specifications and mechanical piping drawings interpretation
  6. Experience with estimating software: Onscreen Take-off, AutoBid Est-MECH, QuoteSoft, etc.
