Job summary

Jobot in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced underground estimator to join our team full-time. The estimator will perform quantity estimates for water, sewer, and storm projects, take-offs from plans, and manage vendor quotes using Planswift and HCSS Heavy Bid.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of construction experience, strong MAG spec knowledge, and solid communication skills. This role offers competitive pay and an annual bonus, with on-site work in the greater Phoenix area.

Qualifications

• Requires minimum 5 years of construction experience in Underground Utilities-water, sewer and storm on private or public projects.
• Thorough knowledge of the estimating process.
• Knowledge of MAG Standard Specifications and Standard Details with local MAG supplements.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Detail oriented; able to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must work well under stress and develop/maintain relationships.
• Ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision.
• Experience using estimation software: Planswift, HCSS Heavy Bid, MS Project, Word, Excel.

Job Details

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year

Qualifications:

• Requires a minimum of 5 years of construction experience in Underground Utilities-water, sewer and storm on private or public projects
• Must have thorough knowledge of the estimating process
• Must have knowledge in MAG Standard Specifications and Standard Details, as well as local supplements to MAG Specifications
• Excellent organization skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
• Must be able to work under stressful situations
• Must be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision
• Experience using various computer systems with preferences in HCSS Heavy Bid, Planswift, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel

Responsibilities:

• The Estimator works closely with the Chief Estimator and is primarily responsible for performing quantity estimates as it relates to underground utility - water, sewer, and storm
• Completes take off per plans and specifications
• Creates accurate take offs from drawings using Planswift
• Requests, compares and summarizes quotes from vendors
• Estimates production and crew sizes using HCSS Heavy Bid
