Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced estimator to prepare accurate take-offs, develop budgets, and coordinate pricing with vendors and subcontractors. You will apply WBS to estimates, manage material costs, and support conceptual estimating activities.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and about 5 years of related experience, with travel up to 10% and a focus on timely delivery of proposal materials in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
• Ability to read and comprehend drawings and specs and identify missing elements.
• Strong PC skills and familiarity with estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Produces accurate quantity and material take-offs from plans and specs.
• Enters take-offs and material unit prices for estimates.
• Applies work breakdown structure (WBS) in estimates.
• Coordinates material pricing from vendors and sources for basic elements.
• Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing.
• Supports development of key estimating deliverables and budgets.
