Job summary

CDM Smith in Vermont is hiring an estimator to produce accurate quantity take-offs, enter pricing, and develop budgets for projects. You will review plans, coordinate with vendors, and support the preparation of key estimating deliverables.

The role requires a high school diploma with 5 years of related experience, and you may travel up to 10% or more depending on project needs. Domestic and international travel may be required as workloads vary.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; 5 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Produces accurate quantity and material take-offs by reviewing plans, specs, and instructions.
• Enters quantity take-offs and material unit pricings for estimate preparation.
• Applies work breakdown structure (WBS) to project elements.
• Coordinates estimate material pricing from vendors to develop pricing.
• Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing.
• Contributes to key estimating deliverables and budget development.
• Supports conceptual estimating efforts and basic model development.
• Coordinates flow of documents during estimate preparation.
• Provides administrative logging of estimates.
• Performs additional duties as required.
