Job summary

NexGen Contracting, the self-perform arm of Gray, based in Franklin, TN, is seeking a Steel Estimator to join our preconstruction team. This role focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates for steel packages and coordinating with project teams, subs, and vendors.

• Consults with customers, subcontractors, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates.
• Interaction with subcontractors to help maintain bid list and contact information.
• Serves as the main point of contact for all preconstruction efforts, pursuing new opportunities for the organization.
• Reaches out in a "precon" manner to the estimating and project teams to facilitate projects being awarded.

Position Summary

This position serves as the primary point of contact for all preconstruction efforts within the organization. Responsibilities range from initial contact with GC for scope/schedule information, coordinating with other estimators and project teams, reaching out to subs/vendors for pricing, building and reviewing final estimates, creating bid forms and scope letters for final submittals, and maintaining progress status of all projects that the organization is pursuing.
