Job summary

Anchor Fabrication Fort Worth is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our metal fabrication team. This role reviews customer drawings, specs, and BOMs to develop accurate cost estimates and support sales with timely quotations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of estimating experience in metal fabrication, reads blueprints and CAD files, and is proficient with Excel and ERP systems to drive cost reduction and quoting efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of estimating experience in metal fabrication and manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost estimating.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer drawings, models, and specifications to prepare accurate estimates and quotes.
  • Develop bills of materials (BOMs), manufacturing processes, and production routing.
  • Calculate material, labor, equipment, and outside processing costs.
  • Work closely with customers, vendors, sales, engineering, and production teams.
  • Analyze production data to improve estimating accuracy and cost savings.
  • Maintain estimating tools, calculators, and costing databases.
  • Monitor estimate-to-actual performance and recommend improvements.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing metal fabrication and manufacturing team. This role is responsible for reviewing customer drawings and specifications, developing accurate cost estimates, and supporting sales efforts by providing timely and competitive quotations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has a strong understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years of estimating experience in metal fabrication and manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of laser/plasma cutting, forming, CNC machining, welding, and finishing/coating processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files.
  • Understanding of bills of materials (BOMs), manufacturing processes, and cost estimating.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self‑motivation with excellent organization and attention to detail.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with heavy plate fabrication and processing.
  • Welding estimating experience.
  • Experience with Epicor or similar ERP/MRP software.
  • Background in cost accounting, time studies, or manufacturing planning.
