Job summary

D&S Automotive in Mentor, OH is seeking a skilled Repair Planner / Estimator to lead vehicle disassembly, document damage, and prepare detailed repair estimates for insurance approvals. You will work closely with the Collision Center team to ensure accurate, timely estimates and seamless communication with customers.

The role requires 3+ years of auto body estimating experience, proficiency with CCC One or equivalent, and strong organizational and communication skills in a fast-paced shop

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of auto body estimating experience in a collision repair environment.
• Proficiency with collision estimating software (CCC One or equivalent).
• Strong computer skills, including estimating systems, digital imaging tools, and basic office applications.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving and background requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Vehicle Disassembly & Damage Documentation: Lead vehicle disassembly and manage all damage documentation using the estimating system and digital photos.
• Repair Planning: Assist in establishing realistic repair plans based on parts availability and current shop volume.

• Parts Coordination: Work with the Parts Department to obtain all required parts to complete repairs efficiently.

About The Position

The Repair Planner / Estimator supports collision operations by leading vehicle disassembly, conducting thorough damage inspections, and accurately documenting all repairs. This role is responsible for creating detailed repair estimates and submitting them to insurance companies or customers for approval. Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this position.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to occasionally lift or carry items weighing up to approximately 25–30 pounds.
• Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, moving vehicles, and standard automotive equipment while following established safety procedures.
