Job summary

E&B Paving is seeking an Estimator/Project Manager for its Concrete Division. The role focuses on developing accurate estimates, managing projects from award through closeout, and maintaining strong client and supplier relationships.

The position requires experience in estimating and project management for INDOT, municipal, and commercial projects, with proficiency in Excel, Word, Project, and digital takeoff software. Travel across Indiana and nearby states is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field or equivalent related experience.
• Professional Engineers with construction experience preferred.
• 2+ years of estimating and managing INDOT, municipal, and commercial projects or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a commitment to safety by promoting and supporting the safety culture while ensuring projects comply with policies and regulations.
• Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Responsible for takeoffs, contacting subcontractors, contacting suppliers, estimating, and project management
• Coordinate closely with field superintendents to ensure successful project execution.
• Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and change orders.
• Assist the Contract Administrator with billing, change orders, and collections
• Maintain clear communication with customers, field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Google Workspace, and digital takeoff and estimating software.

Purpose of Position:

The Estimator/Project Manager plays a key role in the overall success of E&B Paving's Concrete Division. This position is responsible for developing accurate estimates, managing projects from award through closeout, and building strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams. The Estimator/Project Manager serves as both a customer service representative and project leader, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. Strong communication, organization, and collaboration are essential to this role's success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate a commitment to safety by promoting and supporting E&B Paving's safety culture while ensuring all projects are planned and executed in compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulations.
• Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Responsible for takeoffs, contacting subcontractors, contacting suppliers, estimating, and project management
• Coordinate closely with field superintendents to ensure successful project execution.
• Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and change orders.
• Assist the Contract Administrator with billing, change orders, and collections

Requirements:

• This position requires travel to project sites throughout Indiana and surrounding states, including Tennessee. Overnight stays are required as needed to effectively manage projects
• A minimum of 2 years of experience estimating and managing INDOT, municipal, and commercial projects or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Must have extensive knowledge of INDOT specifications, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project, as well as digitizing takeoff software.
• Knowledge of construction plans, specifications, and estimating principles.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Must have excellent communication skills, both written & verbal

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field or equivalent related experience. Professional Engineers with construction experience preferred.

Dependent on experience and qualifications.
