Job summary

Syracuse Utilities LLC in New York seeks an experienced estimator/project manager to prepare accurate bids and guide project execution across civil construction, energy, infrastructure, and environmental programs.

You will review plans, build detailed cost estimates, coordinate with engineers and field teams, manage records, monitor costs and schedules, and communicate with clients and subcontractors. Some travel to project sites is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating and/or project management experience preferred.
• Experience in civil construction, energy, infrastructure, or environmental projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, estimating, scheduling, and cost control.
• Proficiency with estimating software, Microsoft Office, and project management platforms.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and related documentation to determine scope, schedule, and technical requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and develop competitive bids, including analysis of labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, market conditions, overhead, and risk factors.
• Coordinate with leadership, engineers, field personnel, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to support estimating accuracy, project feasibility, and successful execution.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, takeoffs, proposals, contracts, revisions, and project documentation.
• Monitor project costs, schedules, milestones, and performance metrics; identify risks and recommend corrective actions as needed.
• Interface with client systems and project management platforms, including Procore, Ariba, and other customer-specific portals.
• Participate in client meetings, project reviews, subcontractor negotiations, and job site visits as needed.
• Track bid results, project performance, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement initiatives.
