Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking an Estimator to prepare estimates for diverse projects, ensuring cost accuracy with the project team and assisting other estimators and managers in estimating tasks.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management and at least 1 year of estimating experience in commercial construction, with proficiency in Timberline, Excel, and Word.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management or equivalent education/experience.
• At least 1 year experience in estimating commercial construction projects.
• Excellent working knowledge of Timberline and Excel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Appropriate knowledge of construction practices and methods.
• Experience with AutoCAD or Primavera preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares estimates for potential projects using hard-bid, design-build and conceptual estimating.
• Reads and understands contract documents (plans, specifications & addenda).
• Performs quantity take-offs, organizes and prices information.
• Solicits bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Communicates with subs and suppliers to clarify pricing information.
• Prepares estimate formats in areas such as general conditions, general bidding, quantity takeoffs and bid analysis.
• Assists with preparation of bid proposals for submittal.
• Prepares outline schedules for proposed projects.
• Assists staff with special estimating projects.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
