Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our estimating team and deliver timely, high-quality electrical estimates for complex projects.

The Estimator IV will supervise the estimating team, perform project-specific takeoffs, and collaborate with project managers and general contractors to ensure accurate bids. Qualifications

  • Seven (7) years of electrical estimating experience in commercial/industrial/high-tech.
  • 5 years' experience with a design/build contractor.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; BA/BS preferred.
  • Licensure/Certifications: None required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, direct and manage estimating team to timely and accurate completion of electrical estimates.
  • Estimating takeoffs on projects.
  • Provide leadership and training to develop skills of estimators and trainees.
  • Conduct estimating system training for estimators and project managers.
  • Create and communicate company standards for estimating electrical design/build work.
  • Maintain and upgrade the estimating system, database and assemblies.
  • Coordinate with project managers and general contractors to ensure timely, high-quality estimates.
  • Manage quotation process with suppliers and subcontractors.

Location: Remote | Edgerton, WI | Greater San Francisco Bay Area | Salt Lake City, UT | Houston, TX| Salary Range: $120,000 to $150,000

THE ESTIMATING TEAM

|Estimating is an essential part of CEI's sales engine, ensuring that projects are priced properly throughout the bid process. The Estimating group serves a vital role in CEI's PM, teaching estimating skills to future and newly hired project management team members.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Estimator IV supports the project management team achieve its goals by delivering high quality estimates on time. The Estimator IV is in charge of developing and completing project specific estimates based on written and/or oral discretion from project managers.

  • Supervise, direct and manage estimating team to timely and accurate completion of electrical estimates.
  • Estimating takeoffs on projects.
  • Provide leadership and training to develop skills of estimators, estimator trainees and other on the estimating team.
  • Conduct estimating system training for all estimators, project managers and others as necessary.
  • Create and communicate company standards for estimating electrical design/build and plans and specs work.
  • May create, maintain and upgrade the company estimating system, database (units and prices) and assemblies.
  • Communicate and partner with project managers and general contractors to ensure a high quality estimate is delivered on time.
  • Manage quotation process with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure that pricing incorporates all scope items.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required. BA/BS preferred.

Licensure/Certifications: None required.

Experience: Seven (7) years of experience required of electrical estimating experience in commercial/industrial/high tech industry. 5 years' experience with a design/build contractor.
