Hensel Phelps is seeking an Estimator to support senior and lead estimators in developing subcontracting costs and estimates. The role involves trade partner outreach, quantitative take offs, and organizing project documentation for both subcontracted and self-performed work.

You will review trade partner pricing, assess scope risks, and prepare proposal summaries while learning our formats and procedures. Strong communication and detail orientation are essential.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture or construction management, or six years of related experience without a degree.
• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in estimating on large commercial construction projects.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Possess good communications skills and be detail oriented.
• Experience in computer skills and software programs such as On-Screen Take-Off, Building Connected, SAGE and Assemble.
• Early learning of format and procedures.
• Able to survey building specialties, carpentry, millwork, and some finishes.
• Able to perform minor pricing studies (Building Specialties, Rough Carpentry).
• Beginning to show 3D thinking capability.

Responsabilités

• Read and understand plans and specifications
• Prepare a thorough take-off of quantities for scopes of work
• Review trade partner pricing and prepare a comprehensive evaluation of trade partner proposals, scope risks and opportunities on a proposal summary
• Able to survey and prepare estimates for self-work scopes such as building specialties, carpentry, millwork and finishes
• Understand trade partner/supplier relationships to support the ongoing success of Hensel Phelps
• Clearly communicate with trade partners and present risks and scope to Hensel Phelps management
• Demonstrate the ability to be organized and detail oriented
• Early learning of Hensel Phelps formats and procedures.
