Job summary

Performance Contracting, based in Spokane, WA, is seeking an experienced Estimator II to perform estimating duties for PCI scopes of work across our Spokane operations. The role involves quantitative takeoffs, labor productivity settings, vendor pricing, and subcontractor solicitations, with involvement in internal bid reviews and customer alignment.

The position requires 5+ years of estimating experience, strong reading of specs/drawings, excellent communication, and proficiency with estimating

Qualifications

  • Five years’ estimating experience in construction
  • Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes of construction
  • Ability to read, interpret specifications and drawings for PCI scopes
  • Strong track record in customer relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills
  • Attention to detail and cost analysis skills
  • Ability to read project schedules to determine durations
  • Proficiency with takeoff/estimating software and MS Office tools
  • Ability to work in teams or independently
  • Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills

Job Description

Performance Contracting is seeking an experienced Estimator II for its Spokane, WA #554 operations based in Spokane, WA. This individual will perform estimating duties for PCI scopes of work.

Job Responsibilities Include
  • Perform quantitative takeoffs on construction projects
  • Establish labor productivities for estimate
  • Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing
  • Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self-performing group
  • Understand the market conditions including competitive approach, backlog, level or risk for work, and other factors for establishing margin percentages
  • Involvement in internal bid reviews with supervisors and project teams
  • Participate in customer alignment objectives by creating and maintaining positive customer relations
  • Contract administration for secured projects
  • Utilize wage and benefit schedules
  • Hand off secured projects to the Operations team
  • Assist in other duties as assigned such as change order management or billings depending on the project(s)
  • Support other members of the Estimating team for product line collaboration

Salary range: $94,000 - $126,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.

This position is safety sensitive.

Basic Requirements
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience estimating construction projects
  • Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes of construction
  • Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work, specifications, materials, and methods
  • Has a record of establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail and cost analysis skills
  • Ability to accurately read project schedules to determine sequencing and durations of scopes of work
  • Proficiency with computer takeoff and estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word), Bluebeam Revu, Procore, or PlanSwift
  • Must have a sharp understanding of estimating techniques and the bidding process
  • Ability to work effectively both in a collaborative team environment and independently
  • Ability to learn new skills by engaging in technical job functions and applying new skills as they’re learned
  • Possess critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline
  • Experience with drywall, framing, and commercial interior finishes.
  • OSHA certification
  • Experience working with union representatives
