Mortenson is seeking an Estimator I or II - Structured Cabling in Minneapolis, MN to develop project estimates for small to medium projects and support senior estimators on larger bids. Responsibilities include data gathering, quantity takeoffs, and preparing proposal materials.

The role offers two levels based on experience, with base pay $78,800–$123,800 and a bonus plan; hybrid work arrangement and benefits are provided by Mortenson. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in estimating or related field.
• Detail orientation to manage multiple tasks.
• Basic mathematical skills for estimates.
• Familiarity with estimating software and techniques.

Responsabilités

• Create Project Estimates
• Complete quantity takeoffs and summations of materials
• Solicit trade partners, obtain bid estimates and time projections for preparing vendor proposal comparisons and estimate summary sheets
• Help in preparing, organizing, and coordinating Request for Proposal documents and schedules, utilizing schedule information to estimate General Contractor's and other schedule-driven items
• Determine all pricing options and the appropriate price for the project
• Support lead estimator in data input into estimating software program(s)
• Perform archive filing and historical cost data gathering
• Participate in plan and estimate review meetings, other project review meetings, and site investigations, as needed
• Support lead estimator in gathering information from local government and private entities that may affect project (i.e. permits, hearings, etc.)
• Help manage Addendum log and documents from customers/clients
• Provide direction to new Estimators and Engineers as they join the team
• Solicit new bidders when needed, and gather necessary documents for inclusion in future projects
• Will provide training to other estimators and interns

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking an Estimator I or II - Structured Cabling to join our team. This rolewill be responsible for gathering, calculating, and compiling data in order to produce project estimates for small to medium projects and/or provide support to Lead Estimators on larger projects.

*This position offers opportunities at both levels 1 or 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation for this role is determined based on factors such as experience and location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create Project Estimates

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Estimating, Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline, or equivalent field experience
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
• Applicable mathematical skills
• Familiarity with building/estimating techniques and software: ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam/PDF, Google Earth
• Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
• Current driver's license
• Ability to travel 20%

Estimator I Qualifications:

• 1+ year of construction operations experience, including exposure to materials management and project operations

Estimator II Qualifications:

• 3+ year's of construction operations experience, including exposure to materials management and project operations

The base pay range for this role is $78,800 - $123,800.

(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
