You will read blueprints, interpret construction plans, and use estimating software to prepare take-offs. The position involves collaboration with sales teams and contractors, plus ongoing training in estimating techniques.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in engineering or related area required.
• 1–3 years construction and building materials experience preferred.
• Proficient reading of blueprints and technical materials.

Responsibilities

• Estimate materials needed for home construction per policy and local code.
• Assist salesmen with customer orders and materials lists.
• Assist in trim take-offs as requested.
• Provide assistance to contractors as needed.
• Train sales representatives in estimating techniques.
• Assist sales staff with blueprint reading and construction procedures.
• Review actual vs. estimated materials after project completion.
• Work on sales/hardware counter as assigned.
• Control expenditures to conform to budget.
