Job summary

Metric Geo, a respected heavy civil contractor, seeks an experienced Estimator to join its preconstruction team. You will prepare detailed estimates, take-offs, and bid proposals for major infrastructure projects.

The role requires 3+ years of heavy civil estimating, strong read of drawings, Excel proficiency, and collaboration with project managers. A related degree is preferred, with clear long-term progression and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience within heavy civil construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates, quantity take-offs, and bid proposals.
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes, and contract documents.
• Develop accurate pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Operations teams.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, and potential cost savings.
• Assist with bid strategy, value engineering, and proposal development.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client meetings.
