The position involves providing estimating services for various project types and contract formats, producing detailed estimates during different phases of design and construction. Responsibilities include: performing material and equipment takeoffs, obtaining vendor pricing, assigning labor factors based on established manuals, consolidating estimates into a proposal, creating project milestone schedules, reading and interpreting client bid documents, providing technical assistance in negotiations, coordinating the estimating effort for bids or projects, maintaining backup files for estimate figures, and tracking awarded contracts, including estimating extra work, change orders, and procurement.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
• Two to five years of industrial electrical estimating experience
• Proven ability to estimate electrical projects highly desired
• Working knowledge of estimating software (e.g., MCAA, Accubid)
• Ability to perform conceptual estimates (schematic design, design development, construction)
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
