Job summary

Blattner Company is seeking an Electrical Estimator to support the development of competitive proposals for wind, solar and energy storage projects. You will work with Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, Construction, and Project Management to create technically sound estimates from RFPs through contract award.

The role involves reviewing specifications, preparing quantity takeoffs, coordinating with engineers and vendors, and developing schedules to determine crew size and productivity.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in Construction, Engineering or related field is required.
  • Two or more years of renewable construction estimating experience or four+ years in non-renewable estimating.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

  • Review specifications and drawings to determine scope and tasks for the project.
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs and assist with electrical estimates for utility-scale projects.
  • Coordinate with Engineers of Record, utilities, and vendors during bid development.
  • Develop plans for project scheduling, crew sizing, and productivity assumptions.
  • Evaluate bids and use metrics to select cost-effective, technically sound proposals.
  • Identify project risks and contribute to value engineering to strengthen competitiveness.

## Estimator - ElectricalApplylocations: Avon, MNtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted 3 Days Agojob requisition id: R8405**CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES**We're currently hiring **Electrical Estimators** across multiple renewable energy business units, including:* **Wind*** **Solar*** **Battery Energy Storage (BESS)****A DAY IN THE LIFE**As an Electrical Estimator, you'll support the development of competitive, innovative, and technically sound proposals for utility-scale renewable energy projects. Working alongside Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, Construction, and Project Management, you'll help develop conceptual electrical solutions that support projects from early opportunity through contract award.A typical day may involve reviewing Owner RFPs, preparing quantity takeoffs, assisting with electrical estimates, coordinating with Engineers of Record (EOR), utilities, and vendors, and supporting estimates for collection systems, substations, underground cable systems, utility interconnections, SCADA, protection and control systems, and other electrical infrastructure. You'll contribute to identifying project risks, evaluating constructability, and developing value engineering solutions that strengthen proposal competitiveness.**STEP INTO THE ROLE*** Reviews specifications and drawings to determine and establish scope of work responsibilities, required estimate contents, and critical tasks needed to complete the project. Recommends best solution from design options based on cost, engineering, quality, or availability of materials.* Develops a plan for building and scheduling the project along with provides an explanation of the methods used. Prepare a level one schedule and thought process for sequencing the project to determine crew size, resources, and productivity used.* Demonstrates proficiency in developing and issuing of RFP’s to qualified vendors and subcontractors to ensure proposals are accurately evaluated prior to the bid review process. Evaluate quotes using comparison metrics to determine most commercially and technically responsible bidders. Ensures RFP’s establish basis of scope and pricing from supplier/subcontractor.* Calculates various statistical data: quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs, equipment cost, and specialty items. Tracks and research historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.) and compiles summary reports and bridging documents to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates.* Investigates and evaluates materials and services incorporated into the project using only qualified suppliers/subcontractors based on technical and commercial merits.
