Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Experienced Estimator for our Nationally Recognized Earthwork contracting team in the Midwest. The role involves analyzing plans, preparing comprehensive bids, and collaborating with project managers and engineers to ensure cost-effective, high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze construction plans and specs to determine project requirements.

• Collaborate with PMs and engineers to develop accurate estimates.
• Prepare detailed bid proposals for potential clients.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing with subs and suppliers.
• Monitor project costs to ensure budget adherence.
• Review change orders and assess cost impacts.
• Utilize construction management software.

Job Details

Salary: $110,000 - $150,000 per year

Responsibilities:

• Analyze construction plans and specifications to determine project requirements
• Estimate the cost of materials, labor, and equipment needed for construction projects
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop accurate cost estimates
• Prepare detailed and comprehensive bid proposals for potential clients
• Negotiate contracts and pricing with subcontractors and suppliers
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budget
• Review and analyze change orders and provide cost impact assessments
• Utilize construction management software.

Requirements:

• Experience estimating in a relevant field
• Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of cost control principles
• Knowledge of construction management and project management processes
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Proficient in using estimating software and tools
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
