Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years experience as estimator or quantity surveyor in tunnel construction or infrastructure.
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and MS Excel for detailed analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specs, and docs to identify scope and quantities for tunnel construction.
• Perform quantity take-offs, pricing, labor cost estimation, and subcontractor analysis.
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, and procurement to align requirements and schedules.
• Update cost tracking, monitor budget deviations, and identify savings opportunities.
• Participate in value engineering, risk assessments, and cost optimization activities.
• Stay current on market conditions and pricing fluctuations.

This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and compliance of construction activities related to heavy civil engineering, including large shafts, excavation, and tunneling. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in similar projects and a keen eye for detail.We are working as the Delivery Partner along with team members and selected by the Gateway Development Commission to deliver this transformative project. The HTP is a critical component of the broader Gateway Program — one of the most ambitious and impactful transportation initiatives in the nation — and is designed to strengthen mobility, enhance resiliency, and ensure the long-term reliability of the Northeast Corridor.The project encompasses the construction of a new, two-track rail tunnel beneath the Hudson River, along with the full rehabilitation of the existing 113-year-old North River Tunnel.
