Job Details

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as an Estimator for our office in the North Suburbs. This is a pivotal role within our organization, where you will be responsible for estimating the costs of our ground-up construction projects. You will be working closely with our project management team, architects, and engineers, providing key insights that will help shape the financial and operational success of our projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for all cost categories.
• Prepare and manage bid packages, including the preparation of bid documents, solicitation of bids, and coordination of bidder questions.
• Evaluate bids from contractors and subcontractors, ensuring they meet the project's needs and budget.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, and architecture teams to develop strategies to achieve project goals.
• Monitor and report on cost estimates and budgets throughout the project lifecycle, providing regular updates to project stakeholders.
• Conduct risk analysis to identify potential cost overruns and provide mitigation strategies.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in construction cost estimation techniques.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a construction estimator, preferably in the Mortgage industry.
• Proven experience with ground-up construction projects, take-offs, and bid management.
• Proficiency in using construction estimating software and tools.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex plans and specifications.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present cost estimates in a clear and concise manner.
• Sound knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Professional certification in construction estimating is a plus.
