Job summary

Shaw Sports Turf, a premier North American synthetic turf brand and part of Shaw Industries, is seeking an Estimator who enjoys working with numbers, plans, CAD, and project details to turn specifications into accurate, competitive bids.

You’ll partner with our Estimating and Sales teams to develop costed proposals, review drawings, perform takeoffs, and help ensure on-time, well-documented bid packages across local and regional projects.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, architecture preferred.
• High School Diploma/GED required or equivalent.
• Foundational experience in construction estimating, project coordination, takeoffs, or related environment is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to communicate across teams.
• Curiosity and desire to continue learning in estimating.

Responsibilities

• Build accurate bids: assist with cost estimates and complete bid packages with precise project details.
• Interpret construction plans to identify labor, materials, quantities, and requirements.
• Perform material takeoffs and help develop proposals reflecting project scope.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and availability.
• Use AutoCAD to develop conceptual drawings and takeoffs from plans.
• Update bids when drawings or specs change and keep stakeholders aligned.
• Maintain organized project documentation for estimates and drawings.
• Support quality by reviewing bid packages for discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Estimators and Territory Managers to improve estimating practices.
