Job summary

NNI Construction Co. is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our on-site team in Bedford, OH. You will prepare and manage comprehensive estimates for 16 trades, coordinate bids, and develop budgets to support competitive proposals.

In this full-time role, you will travel up to 25% for site visits and collaborate with leadership to ensure timely, accurate estimates. You will supervise 1–2 Estimator Assistants and contribute to project planning and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience estimating all trades for a General Contractor in retail/commercial construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction estimating, processes, and cost controls.
• Experience reviewing bids, drawings, and construction documents.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, Heavy Bid, and preferably Procore.
• Excellent written communication skills with attention to formatting and detail.
• Strong ability to work under deadlines and prioritize tasks.
• Understanding of construction site operations and logistics.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret project bid documents, specifications, and drawings.
• Conduct quantity takeoffs for all 16 trades using company software.
• Qualify subcontractor/vendor bids and select appropriate low bidders.
• Collaborate with bid soliciting team to assemble and review final proposal packages.
• Develop detailed bid scopes and written proposals with accuracy and professionalism.
• Review final estimates with Director of Estimating and VP of Preconstruction.
• Ensure bid documentation is complete, consistent, and formatted correctly.
• Assist with contract negotiations and pricing strategies.
• Use software such as Bluebeam, Heavy Bid, and Procore for estimating and proposal development.
• Participate in site visits as needed (approx. 25% travel).
• Supervise and mentor 1-2 Estimator Assistants.
