Job summary

Crowder Construction Co. is seeking an Estimator to prepare bids for civil and environmental projects. You will participate in pre-bid activities, visit project sites, solicit subcontractor quotes, and assemble comprehensive cost estimates for submission.

You will lead bid reviews, support subcontractor participation, and assist post-bid handoffs to project teams. A four-year engineering degree and experience in water/wastewater estimates are preferred.

Qualifications

• 4 year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.
• 1 year estimating, engineering or similar experience in water or wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specs and bid documents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu and Primavera P6.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills for complex estimates and bids.

Responsibilities

• Pre Bid: review bid docs, participate in pre-bid meetings, visit sites, solicit vendor quotes.
• Prepare and assemble estimates including labor, materials, subs, and equipment costs.
• Attend bid reviews and provide questions for clarification.
• Bid Process: maintain vendor/subcontractor database, compare bids, support DBE participation.
• Post Bid: transfer information to project teams, assist with change orders, archive estimator data.
