Job summary

RK Mechanical, Inc. is seeking an Estimator in Denver to develop accurate, competitive trade-specific estimates and support project pursuit through handoff to operations.

This role emphasizes collaboration with sales, preconstruction, and field teams to turn plans into well-supported bids. You will analyze scope, perform takeoffs, and contribute value engineering ideas to improve bid competitiveness, while staying detail-oriented in a collaborative environment from pursuit through project

Qualifications

• Must have solid understanding of estimation process.
• Review project documents.
• Identify scope of work.
• Material, labor, and equipment takeoffs.
• Job site visits as needed.
• Coordinate with Preconstruction Team to identify and fill scope gaps.
• Obtain quotes and coordinate/qualify scope with vendors and subcontractors.
• Completely assemble the Bid Tab in a timely manner.
• Provide value engineering ideas.
• Verify estimate accuracy by comparing data versus similar bids.
• File electronic documents.
• Participate in turnover process to Operations.
• Liaison between Estimating and Field Operations.
• Follow up on past awards.
• Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

• Provide complete and accurate trade-specific estimates.
• Assemble Bid Tab with estimates and vendor/sub quotes.
• Coordinate and clarify scope internally and externally.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and fill in minor design/score gaps.
• Follow up on past awards.
