Job summary

Rochester Motor Cars is seeking an Estimator Apprentice to assist the lead estimator in assessing damage and preparing estimates. This entry-level role offers hands-on training and mentorship to develop skills toward becoming a certified estimator.

You will learn to navigate estimating systems and interact with customers and insurance adjusters while supporting repairs and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Excellent communication with customers and team members.
• Basic computer literacy; familiarity with estimating software is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist inspecting damaged vehicles at drop-off with guest.
• Help create accurate cost estimates using CCC One and Mitchell.
• Schedule repairs.
• Communicate effectively with customers and insurance adjusters via phone, email, text.
• Learn estimating systems, parts sourcing, and labor calculations.
• Maintain organized files and customer records.
• Perform a walk-around with guest at end of repair.
• Shadow experienced estimators and attend training sessions as required.

Position Overview

The Estimator Apprentice supports the lead estimator or manager in assessing damage, preparing estimates, and communicating with customers and insurance providers. This role is ideal for individuals beginning their careers in the estimating field, providing hands‑on training and mentorship to develop the skills necessary to become a certified estimator.

Salary Range

Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities
