Job Description

About the position: We are seeking a motivated self-starter to join our estimating department. We perform all facets of site development for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, ranging in size from $200K to over $20 million. The selected candidate will be responsible for procuring work to bid, bidding projects, and negotiating contracts and change orders with owners/clients. Additionally, the candidate will manage projects awarded, coordinate with the accounting department on invoicing from subcontractors and vendors, review or issue subcontracts and purchase orders, and coordinate with field personnel on projects.

Candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of 5+ years estimating experience
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills for dealing with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to bring a client portfolio to secure projects for bidding
  • Established contacts/relationships with local engineering firms for project solicitation
  • Ability to identify projects to bid on
  • Experience in project management and cost control post-bid
  • Proficiency in reading plans and specifications
  • Understanding of contract documents
  • Computer literacy with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Bid2Win Software
  • Experience with AGTEK earthwork take-off software
  • Prior hands-on field experience is a plus
  • Willingness to work required hours to meet deadlines
