Job summary

Curtis Contracting, Inc. is seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare bids for roadway, site, utility and bridge projects. The role requires strong experience with HCSS Estimating, Agtek, Excel, Word, PDF editing, and Google Earth, plus the ability to manage bid documents and work under high pressure with multiple concurrent projects.

You will work within a team to produce accurate takeoffs, review specs, and coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to assemble competitive bids.

Qualifications

• Five years experience estimating roadway, site, utility and bridge projects.
• Proficiency with HCSS Estimating software to include development from scratch or DOT database.
• Modify crews and resources to fit project constraints.
• Input subcontractor and vendor quotes into HCSS system.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Proficient with Agtek earthwork software.
• Proficient with Adobe PDF document creation and modification.
• Proficient with Google Earth.
• Able to work in a high-intensity environment with multiple projects.
• Work independently and as part of the Estimating Team.
• Accurate takeoffs of roadway, site, utility and bridge plans.
• Review project specs and provide bid requirements affecting cost and schedule.
• Manage bid documents including plans, specs and addenda.
• Process bid forms, bonds and other submission documents.

Responsibilities

• Estimate roadway, site, utility and bridge projects from initial data.
• Prepare complete bid packages ensuring all documents and addenda are included.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for quotes and scheduling.
• Review project specifications to identify cost drivers and risks.
• Support the Estimating Team with data entry and takeoffs as needed.
